Question by kenzi77: how does algae biodiesel work? okay so i am in 7th grade, and i need to answer these questions……how algae biodiesel works….how is oil extracted from biodiesel…..how do scientist grow algae?…….pros and cons of algae biodiesel………what can we use algae biodiesel for? and if you people could, can you try to explain this at a seventh grade level..thanks

Algae is grown in water
Oil is extracted from the plant material (not from biodiesel)
the biodiesel works the same as diesel from petroleum in the diesel engine, it is burned under pressure and causes the cylinders of the engine to move which is transferred to the wheels by gears and the drive shaft
It can be used in diesel engines with very few changes
one good thing is we can grow the algae without effecting our food supply and with little waste
technology for the whole process needs improvement to be economically feasible
