How Do You Make Biodiesel At Home?
[translate:en|it|en] **

Making Biodiesel – The Supplies

To make a small batch of Biodiesel at home, you only need to comply with few input requirements Actual ingredients are needed to produce a Biodiesel product alcohol, lye substance and vegetable oil. You also have to produce some supply requirements for mixing the fuel: empty plastic bottles, duct tape, a mixer and measuring cups. Make sure that any inputs for the production of Biodiesel should not be used for any other purpose and avoid using again for your cooking ingredients.

When supplies are ready, you are ready to begin learning how to make Biodiesel.

Safe Process

The production of Biodiesel is nothing risky. Running the risk of inviting fire or explosion is minimal. In fact, the only major area of concern, as far as safety, getting hurt due to flames. Exercise caution and ensure that the mixture\’s temperature is under control.

You will go through the easy process of making Biodiesel which involves combining the inputs, allowing it to set, splitting the byproduct and Biodiesel and then purifying the Biodiesel. The entire proccess can last for just a few days or it may take a few weeks. That is dependent on the cleanliness level of your vegetable oil.

Small or Large Scale

The production of a Biodiesel can be in a small scale or a large scale basis. Using Biodiesel kits is way to go if your intention is to produce a a few gallons of Biodiesel at a time. If you depend on your lawnmower or similar equipments then A Biodiesel kit would be perfect. It is easy to use and will not require a considerable level of supplies.

If your mindset is to produce more Biodiesel for the instance for running your automobile, you have to operate a Biodiesel processor. This makes the process super simple, so you can increase your level of production. More production inputs are required to run a processor but you can be more productive in making Biodiesel since the processor can automate some tasks.  http://www.easyaffiliatepack.net/solarpanels

Some of them have to do with safety and others have to do with any plans you may have about selling biodiesel product. First off, pouring biodiesel into your vehicle’s engine may or may not void your warranty on your vehicle. READ your OME warranty to make a wise decision. Keep in mind too that if you sell or give biodiesel fuel to another individual and it wrecks their engine that it is you, not the manufacturer of the diesel engine or diesel car that can be sued. It is also illegal to sell biodiesel that is not fuel grade. ————————————————————————————————————————————– The biodiesel home making process can be a time consuming, labor intensive process so set aside week for you r homemade diesel production. Also be prepared make test batches and experience a few failures, as biodiesel production not always an exact science. The success of the venture depends on quite a few factors such as t he humidity of the air and the quality of the vegetable oil you are using. It also will depend on your actua l skills as a chemist and some would say luck! Any fuel that you make should be tested to make sure that you have ended up with a fuel grade product. Other wise you could be risking damage to your diesel engine or diesel car. Biodiesel home making is not for children. It [/translate] Video Rating: 3 / 5

Question by Eric B.: Where would be a good location to operate a biodiesel processing business?
I’m about to graduate from college and I’m considering starting a biodiesel business. Where would be a good location to do so? I’m leaning towards the east coast – - so, where on the east coast is heavy in agriculture, farming, construction, etc? I would also need many restaurants nearby, preferably chinese or asian foods.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Answer by James “The Wolf” Wolfe
Somewhere on the East Coast.

The suburbs of New Jersey are a good place. They have a lot of Chinese places there, and it is in fact the garden state, so there will be agriculture.

Is Making Biodiesel at Home Safe? Home Bio Diesel Production

The flammability point of biodiesel. I’ve mentioned that it’s biodegradable that it’s safe to use blah, blah, blah, all these different things, but I want to show you how safe this is. This biodiesel that I’ve made from canola oil, so I’m going to pour a little bit in here, and now it’s time to play with fire. We’re going to come down here. Light up our torch, notice I have my fire extinguisher people. We now have a nice blow torch going. Notice I’ve got some nice biodiesel on the ground here. I want to show you that biodiesel is very, very safe to have around. I can’t light it on fire. This torch is a really hot torch. I’m actually using map gas. Map gas actually has a higher flame temperature. So I’m just trying to light this sucker on fire, and you know what, she’s not going. That’s because biodiesel isn’t actually that flammable. It has a much higher flash point than normal diesel, and I’ve just proven it. And that’s one of the reasons people like biodiesel is because it’s so safe to use. In fact, if this stuff spills on the ground the MSDS and things that it calls for is get a garden hose and wash it off. It’s not going to light up. It’s as safe to have around as vegetable oil. No I have to cavy up that this biodiesel has been cleaned. We have got all the methanol out of it, and we’ll talk a little bit about that later, but I just want to show you that it’s very clean and it just doesn’t burn. That’s that little fun experiment. We want to show you that biodiesel will burn though. When it’s under pressure it does burn quite well. For this experiment I’m just going to start a fire, and I’m going to spray it into it. As you can see it will burn, so when it’s in your diesel and it becomes injected, it will burn beautifully. That’s biodiesel burning.

Answer by smaccas
Most of the oil we use in our cars used to be oil from marine zooplankton and phytoplankton that died and sunk to the bottom of the ocean millions of years ago but growing algae or zooplankton commercially so as to make fuel is a good idea although the burning of these fuels will still emit carbon. Good idea though. I’m sure someone in the world would be researching this topic.
